About BHD Home.

Where are you based?

Our BHD HOME headquarters is located in the beautiful Tallebudgera Valley on the Gold Coast, Australia. All our designs are created here, and we hand-make our made-to-order cushions and textile art on site.

Our showroom is open by private appointment — book a visit here.

Can you create custom designs?

We love to. As a slow fashion company, we offer small-run custom designs and full bespoke programs for both residential and commercial clients. Past clients include The Ritz-Carlton, Kokomo Private Island, Pullman, Novotel, David Jones, and Gaia Retreat & Spa.

Do you offer interior design services?

Yes — we specialise in commercial projects and also offer residential storyboard and design services for new builds and renovations.

How do I apply for a wholesale account?

We supply designers, stylists, and stockists all over the world. Our registered wholesale clients receive a generous discount off the retail pricing across our entire range.

About our pieces.

My new cushion looks different to one I've previously bought — can you match them?

Due to the handmade and natural nature of our pieces, no two items are guaranteed to be identical. Hand-woven and hand-printed fabrics will vary slightly in pattern, and naturally dyed threads can differ between dye lots.

Any small imperfections are not faults — they're the unique characteristics that make your investment pieces truly beautiful.

Do your cushions come with inserts?

You can purchase covers only, or add an insert for $20. This means you can buy a complete set, or just the cover if you already have inserts and want to refresh your space.

Indoor Lounge and Lumbar sizes use a feather insert. Euro and Outdoor sizes use a Dacron insert.

Why does my insert look flat?

All our feather inserts come vacuum-packed to save on shipping costs. Your parcel includes an instruction card showing how to fluff your insert — it will triple in size before your eyes. It's a lot of fun.

How should I wash my BHD Home cushion?

The safest way to wash your cushion cover is a cold hand wash. For your insert, we recommend leaving it out in the sun for a few hours to refresh.

What happens if one of the buttons breaks?

Our covers are french-seamed and finished with recycled coconut buttons. This makes for a beautiful, sustainable finish — but the buttons are a little more fragile. If one breaks, you'll find a spare tucked inside the seam.

If you can't locate a spare, please reach out to us at customerservice@bandhinidesign.com and we'll send one out to you.

Where are your cushions made, and what materials do you use?

Most of our cushions are made by our team of artisans in India. We employ craftspeople from local villages, with a driver travelling to collect the finished work — allowing them to stay in their communities and continue passing traditional techniques to the next generation. Our made-to-order cushions and textile artwork are assembled on-site at our Tallebudgera Valley HQ.

Our materials are chosen so each piece can gently return to the earth at the end of its long life. We use:

  • 100% commercial-grade cotton
  • 100% biodegradable, hypoallergenic linen
  • Velvet made with 100% cotton
  • Sustainable buffalo leather

Our fabrics are hand-dyed using natural dyes wherever possible.

Orders & shipping.

Do you ship overseas?

Yes — we ship worldwide. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location.

For customers in the United States, we have a dedicated process that covers all import duties on our side. Read more about shipping to the USA.

How long will it take to get my order?

In-stock orders usually ship within 1–3 business days. We're a little out of town, so there can occasionally be delays with courier pickups — we ask for your patience here.

Made-to-order pieces have their production timeframes listed in the description of each product. As a general guide:

  • Cushions — 2–5 business days
  • Bedding and artwork — 4–6 weeks

Delivery is via Australia Post or courier, with transit times depending on your location.

Can I update my delivery address after I place my order?

We can change your shipping address before your order is dispatched — please contact us as soon as possible so we can amend the details in time.

Please double-check the address you supply is correct and complete. Once orders are shipped, any redirection must be arranged by the customer directly with the courier.

My parcel couldn't be delivered — can you arrange redelivery?

Our orders are shipped via both Australia Post and couriers, so some deliveries may be held at a courier depot rather than a post office.

Receiving deliveries to the supplied address is the customer's responsibility. Any redirection, redelivery, or collection arrangements after dispatch must be organised directly with the delivery company.

I live locally — can I pick up my order?

We'd love that. Just email customerservice@bandhinidesign.com before placing your order so we can process it without postage charges.
